Three-star California linebacker Jordan Whitney narrowed his list down to five schools on Monday. Washington, Arizona, Washington State, Fresno State and Boise State are the five schools at the top of the list now with two of those programs having already separated themselves. Whitney has been clear that UW and Arizona are the two schools standing out most in his recruitment, and he will take official visits to both schools before coming to a decision. His plan is to decide by July 1 after taking trips over the next month. The Huskies will have the last visit before his decision, which is an important spot to be in for Kalen DeBoer and Co.
At this point if he had to make a decision today, my belief is that it would be Washington. However, Arizona has certainly made a strong push and is very much in the picture. Co-DC and LB coach William Inge has been leading the recruitment for the Huskies, and Whitney has built a strong relationship with him.
“I have a really good relationship with coach Inge. He always hits me up, always checks on my family, sees how I’m doing in school, sees how practice went and stuff like that. So, I’m dealing with coach Inge the most.”
You can read the full update above as Whitney talks about his process at this point and what he will be looking for most when he takes his official visits and eventually makes a decision.
