Washington has added to its 2023 class today with two commitments separated by a little over an hour. The first came this afternoon when University of Sioux Falls transfer edge rusher Zach Durfee announced his pledge to the Huskies. That was followed by a big one when 4-star wide receiver Taeshaun Lyons announced his commitment to UW over a final group that included Oregon, Notre Dame and Miami. Notre Dame had long been the favorite, but the Huskies were able to make a late charge to secure a commitment from the standout receiver from California's Bay Area.

Washington picks up another commitment to end the weekend as California defensive lineman Sua Lefotu has committed to the Huskies over offers from Michigan State, Colorado, Arizona State, Arizona, Nevada and Montana State. The 6-foot-4 prospect used an official visit on a trip to Seattle over the weekend sealing his decision after being offered by UW less than two weeks ago. The process moved quickly for the Bellflower-St. John Bosco recruit and now he is the 12th member of the 2023 class and eighth commitment since Monday.

He's had to deal with knee issues early in his career but when healthy Lefotu has all the tools to be a difference maker up front. Schools have recently started to become more confident in his abilities now that he's healthy again leading to the recent wave of offers.

COMMITMENT: UW lands HUGE commitment from 5-star guard Wesley Yates

Texas shooting guard Wesley Yates is one of the top-25 recruits in the 2023 class, and today he has committed to the Huskies over a ton of offers including Gonzaga, Auburn, Texas, LSU and many others. The big guard is cousins with Quincy Pondexter, and that connection to the UW assistant coach ended up playing a big role in his decision. It is a huge pickup for Mike Hopkins and the Huskies staff, and he has the game to make a big impact for the team once he arrives on campus next year.
