There is a local event that is going to impact just how many in-state prospects make it out for the spring game, but still there is a nice collection of prospects expected on campus this weekend. Here's a rundown of who is supposed to be stopping by UW for a visit and to watch the spring game. This list also includes a few of the members of the 2022 class who will be making the trip out for the game.

California safety Christian Pierce has named his top three favorites and none are surprising. Washington, USC and UCLA have made the top list for the 2023 prospect meaning schools such as Oregon and Michigan did not. He's visited all three places and came away with a strong impression overall of the Huskies. He is someone to keep a close watch on as the process continues to unfold. There's been plenty of buzz that he could very well end up up with the Huskies.

Washington made the top five for Northern California lineman Amos Talalele yesterday and the Huskies remain well involved in the process. Talalele already has four official visits scheduled for June with UW set to receive his last visit that month. Recruits aren't allowed to take official visits after during July and August, so he will have plenty of time to sit on his official visit with the Huskies. USC, Cal and Arizona are the other three schools that have already locked in OVs with him in June as well.

Top 6: Las Vegas safety Kodi Decambra

Las Vegas-Bishop Gorman safety Kodi Decambra is down to six schools as he pushes ahead in the process with an expected decision sometime before his senior season. Washington has made the cut along with Oregon, Arizona, Oregon State, Colorado and Hawaii.

The Huskies offered Decambra back in February and has been a consistent part of the process since then. However, Oregon is the heavy favorite at this stage. He has already made multiple trips out to see the Ducks and that program continues to be in the best position. I've watched him on a few occasions this offseason and Decambra is a really strong player at his position with a toughness that coaches like in safety prospects. The feeling is that UW is one of the other schools most in play for his commitment, but right now everyone in the race is chasing Oregon.

Bay Area four-star 2023 receiver Jurrion Dickey has trimmed his list down to five schools and four of the five are in the Pac-12. Washington made the cut while UCLA, USC, Oregon and Penn State round out his top five. The Huskies have previously hosted Dickey for a visit back in January, and he continues to be a priority for the coaches. Oregon has emerged as the favorite to land the 6-foot-2 receiver and the process could actually move quickly. For now, UW is one of the schools on his short list.

High three-star 2023 tight end Jackson Bowers has his top seven schools. The 6-foot-5 prospect from Mountain View HS in Mesa, Arizona released his top seven today and it includes Washington in addition to Oregon, Arizona, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss and BYU. The Huskies are one of the strongest contenders for Bowers, and he now plans to figure out his official visit schedule before coming to a decision.

Anaheim (Calif.) Fairmont Prep edge rusher/athlete Collins Acheampong is down to six schools and he has now set his commitment for July 1. The Ghana native came the United States with the plan of playing basketball and reaching college through his skills on the hardwood. He tried out football on a whim and enjoyed it. His school cut the football program during the pandemic, but he has become one of the most coveted recruits in the West for 2023 because of his raw ability and size. He has only ever played one season of football, but coaches are eager to get to work with him and develop his skills. Washington has been one of the schools most active in the process with Acheampong and now has a spot on his final six.

The Huskies' momentum continues today as Nebraska second-year freshman receiver Will Nixon has announced his transfer to Washington. He will join the team as a slot back after playing in three games with the Cornhuskers. He caught one pass for 5 yards last season after sitting out his first year with an injury. He will have four years of eligibility left with at UW.

Washington has added a commitment from athlete recruit Keith Reynolds from Adelanto, California. The 5-foot-10 recruit played multiple positions on both sides of the ball as a junior but is expected to step into a receiver role for the Huskies. He was only offered by the program last month but moved quickly to make a decision. Arizona State was the other Power Five school that offered him while Colorado State and Grambling State also offered Reynolds in the process.

Washington has jumped into the race for four-star athlete prospect Malachi Coleman from Lincoln, Nebraska. The 6-foot-5 prospect has earned a ton of attention from college coaches already, and he is currently rated as the top prospect in his state. He is a multi-sport athlete who also competes in track and field and basketball as well. Nebraska has jumped out as the early favorite with schools such as Georgia, Texas Tech, Louisville, Kansas State, Maryland and Iowa all offering him as well. Exciting new future for Dawg Report

I understand we have a small subscriber base at this point, but I wanted to introduce myself to everybody as the new publisher of Dawg Report -- and introduce our plans to grow this site considerably moving forward. Those that are here already are in for some major upgrades, while we look forward to attracting a larger audience over the coming months and year.

First, my name is Ryan Young and I have run the USC site for Rivals for 3.5 years. In recent months, I collaborated with Rivals leadership on a plan to bolster our Pac-12/West Coast coverage. The reality is that Dawg Report and a few others weren't operating with a large enough subscriber base to have the means to staff a site like this the way it should be staffed. So the plan we came up with was to pool the resources from several sites -- Washington, Oregon, Cal, Arizona and UCLA -- and use that to hire a full-time West Coast recruiting reporter to flood recruiting coverage to each site. We brought on @Matt Moreno, who had previously served as the publisher of the Arizona site GOAZCATS.com. We took over a few of the other sites in January and have already put the plan in place at Oregon, Cal and Arizona, with Matt delivering consistent and engaging recruiting coverage tailored to each audience. That's the key. What you will get moving forward will be in-depth interviews and stories about Washington targets specifically -- not a general story where Washington is mentioned for a couple paragraphs. We want to turn this site into a destination for Huskies recruiting coverage.

Meanwhile, it's my job to manage all the sites and line up a reporter to cover the team side of things from Seattle. We're working on putting that person in place, hopefully by the start of spring practice. I'm still based in L.A. myself, so it's important we have someone on campus providing coverage from practices and press conferences, but I will be very hands-on with the site, you'll see my byline on stories as well and I will keep a presence on the board too. I look forward to engaging with everybody.

I'm going to have Matt chime in here as well and further introduce himself, but please drop in any questions you have. This is going to be an entirely different site moving forward, and I think you'll be excited by what is to come. I know we're fired up to be a part of it and transform Dawg Report.
