Visitors For Saturday's Spring Game...

I'll be updating this thread as I confirm recruits who will be at Husky Stadium on Saturday for the UW Spring Game. Earlier this week four-star Federal Way (Wash.) Todd Beamer offensive tackle Malik Agbo informed me he'll be in attendance, one of several top in-state OL targets for Scott Huff in this years' class.

Last night 2022 San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln safety Jahlil Florence told me - and then announced on Twitter - that he was already planning on coming up for the Spring Game prior to receiving his offer Thursday from UW.

Earlier this morning 2022 four-star Tumwater (Wash.) tight end Ryan Otton confirm with me he'll be in the stands, the top tight end target remaining for Derham Cato in the class to pair with Chance Bogan. Bogan confirmed he won't be at the game Saturday, but he's still very firm on his commitment and it's due to him practicing with FSP for a game on May 23.

Update on Zion Tupuola-Fetui...

Since junior edge rusher Zion Tupuola-Fetui left the sixth spring practice with a non-contact injury last Friday he has missed the following three practices, including Wednesday.

I expect Jimmy Lake will confirm an injury for ZTF after this mornings practice when he is scheduled to meet with the media that will keep him off the field for an extended period of time.

Two Potential WR Transfer Targets...

As I mentioned in my story on Marquis Spiker and Austin Osborne transferring out of the program on Friday, there are a couple of names to remember that are also in the transfer portal who could come out wearing Purple and Gold.

Michigan sophomore Giles Jackson, a former four-star recruit in the 2019 class out of Freedom High School in Oakley, California, and Christian Fitzpatrick, a three-star receiver from the state of Michigan who signed with Louisville in the 2020 class, have both been in contact with UW since each entered the portal. With UW having just six scholarship receivers entering spring ball; Terrell Bynum, Rome Odunze, Jalen McMillan, Taj Davis, Sawyer Racanelli and Ja'Lynn Polk, adding a recruit from two separate classes allows for Junior Adams to space out the depth a bit.

This coming week...

I've been hearing for several weeks that Washington would be adding a former five-star transfer from outside the conference. It was expected that the addition would be announced before the start of spring practices and I believe it will be official early this week.

It's expected that the defensive back will play his two remaining seasons of eligibility at UW (2021-22). The Huskies already return Trent McDuffie, the highest graded cornerback in the Pac-12, based on PFF grades from last season, along with redshirt sophomore Kyler Gordon who also graded out among the ten best at his position in 2020.

Puka Nacua...

Washington junior receiver Puka Nacua has entered the transfer portal Sunday. It has been expected that Nacua would transfer for some time and now that the winter quarter is wrapping up the move is able to be official.

Recently his older brother Samson Nacua also entered the portal as a graduate transfer from Utah. It's expected the two will end up at BYU with the brothers being from the state of Utah.

I'll have more on this soon..

Huskies coming on strong, late for four-star

Minneapolis 2021 four-star Davon Townley announced a new offer from Washington today, but I am told that relationship has been developing for some time. In fact, Davon broke down each of his top contenders for me today, and I talk about where I see this recruitment going in the article below. Definitely a prospect to watch closely in the next nine days.

Portal Taketh away; Portal Give...

Washington has lost a handful of receivers since the 2020 season concluded — Ty Jones, Jordan Chin and a walk-on receiver as well. Earlier this morning I was told the Huskies would be getting some good news out of the portal soon.

Ja'Lynn Polk, a 6-2, 190-pound true freshman wide receiver this past season, officially entered the portal earlier this week after spending just one season at Texas Tech. Late Thursday night a report out of Houston cited Houston, Kentucky & UW were his three finalists with a decision to come.

Polk played at Lufkin High School, the same school that 2021 RB signee Caleb Berry hails from. He finished his freshman season with 28 receptions for 264 yards and hauled in a pair of touchdowns. One key Polk stat: zero drops.

Rivals250 DE talks Washington offer

Several of four-star 2022 DE DJ Wesolak's recent offers have been from Pac-12 schools, including one last month from Washington. Wesolak talks about his fit in the Pac-12, and touches on his early thoughts about the Huskies in the article below:

OFFER: 2022 four-star cornerback

Washington extended an offer to 2022 four-star cornerback Myles Pollard out of Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood on Wednesday. It gives the junior an even two dozen scholarship offers to date, and his second Pac-12 offer along with Oregon. One interesting observation I gleaned from this is that, aside from the fact that the Huskies rarely target players on the East Coast or South - though they still have offered players under Jimmy Lake outside the traditional recruiting footprint UW has - one of the first schools to offer Pollard was Louisville.

While it might be a stretch, one potential replacement for Pete Kwiatkowski could be former UW linebacker Cort Dennison, who is currently the co-defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach at Louisville. Harris and Brown linking up to target a player Dennison knows (outside of the Washington footprint) - and a prospect who clearly is more than ideal at 6-2 and 180 pounds, the ideal Lake cornerback.
