DJ Beavers, UW's newest commit, told us this weekend that he's an OLB primarily because of his cover skills, in the minds of the UDUB coaches. He didn't do a lot to increase his brand, avoiding camps/combines/7on7's this year, but he's the kind of fast, disciplined player Washington's coaches want. The coaches also told him they wanted 3-4 LB's in this class because they felt short at the position.

Chris Polk and Bishop Sankey had breakout moments in NFL action over the weekend.

Anthony Camargo is one of UDub's top linebacker targets. He's taking an official visit to Boise State this weekend and he just told me he's likely to take his official visit to Washington the weekend of his bye. Based on Bishop Amat's schedule that appears to be Oct. 25.

Ben Burr-Kirven is Washington's newest commitment and I actually did a scouting report on him for NorCalPreps.com earlier this year, back in January. Some time has elapsed but it's worth posting again as he had extensive junior film available.

Has been offered by Cal but he said he's staying committed to the Huskies. Miller said he'll do his research but that he's happy with his pledge.

Andre Baccellia has missed Westlake's first three games but he's set to return the next time his teammates take the field. He's also recruiting a five-star prospect for UDub.

Jaylinn Hawkins, a four-star receiver, just told TheDawgReport.com that he will take official visits to Washington, Utah, Oregon and either Miami (if they offer) or Cal. He's got the date set for UDub but didn't have it on hand. We'll follow up. Utah is up on 9/26.

After the Washington-Illinois game Huskies' head coach Chris Petersen said Jermaine Kelly will be out for pretty much the rest of the year with a fractured ankle. Depth hit to a key player in a young unit.
