Father of 2018 4-star OL Justin Dedich on His First UW Visit

I haven't caught up yet with 2018 four-star Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral center Justin Dedich following his unofficial visit, but there was no expectation for him to commit and I prefer fuller reports for kids visiting so I'll catch up with him this weekend.

However, a key element to the visit was his father, Bill Dedich, getting a chance to meet the coaches and see the campus with Justin. His mother made the trip with him back in January so his dad hadn't yet see UW, while still being very high on the coaches/program. His father shared his thoughts on the visit...

"We can't thank the coaches and staff enough for all the effort they put out for us. I am truly humbled by the day and people we met. UW is all class. We are totally impressed and saw why coach Petersen had been building juggernauts for years. His philosophy and passion are contagious. That's a program any parent could feel comfortable sending their son to. We did not feel a sales pitch, just genuine people working hard at their careers to be the best. If a kid gets an offer to that program, they should seriously consider it, like Justin is. They are one of his top considerations for sure. They are recruiting carefully and wisely to build on last year's success. On top of that a world class education at one of the most prestigious universities. Tons of great alumni and fan base and be able to play in that stadium in that environment. Definitely got Justin's attention. These visits are supposed to help him make an informed decision, but these schools and coaches are all awesome and its gonna make it hard for him to pick one. Gotta be the best hardest thing to deal with. A great problem to have that's for sure."

Dedich will visit USC on Monday (6/19) before heading off to TheOpening at the end of June/beginning of July. The expectation is the four-star recruit will narrow his list down soon (UW fully expected to make the cut).

Washington Offers 2019 4-star WR Marquez Beason

2019 four-star Dallas (Tex.) Bishop Dunne wide receiver Marquez Beason added his fifth Pac-12 offer from Washington on Monday night. UW wide receivers coach / co-offensive coordinator Matt Lubick pulled the trigger on the offer tonight after recruiting Beason for the past couple months.

"It's a great honor," Beason told me tonight following the UW offer. "[Lubick said] that I fit in with the system and I would be like John Ross."

Beason, a 5'11, 175-pound receiver, watched several Huskies games last season, with Ross being the centerpiece to their top-ranked offense in 2016. After making an early commitment to Nebraska in April, the four-star recruit opened back up his recruitment roughly a month later.

Washington has offered six wide receivers in the class of 2019, five of which are four-star recruits and three are from the state of Texas. Here is the full list of 2019 WR recruits the Huskies have offered.

2018 Four-Star OL Justin Dedich...

Washington will hosted 2018 four-star Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral center Justin Dedich for a second unofficial visit this year already. Dedich, the No.2 C in the country for the class of 2018, will make the trip on June 14th just for a day with his father. Last time his mother made the trip north and Petersen usually prefers both parents to make a visit w/the recruit or at least once at some point. With his father coming up and Washington still right at the top of his list overall, there could be some movement this summer with the Huskies not expected to hold that "0/3" on OL much longer.

I'll have more on this later today from Justin, but getting him on campus is huge for UW with the first visit being a massive success.

Dawg Bites: Sunday, June 4th

With the calendar turning to June the recruiting front is expected to heat up over the next couple months for Washington. I've been able to catch up with several UW targets this week and also a couple more twists and turns expected...

2018 three-star Palmdale (Calif.) running back Richard Newton (uncommitted): Washington was the first school to offer Newton back in early April, and since then several other Pac-12 schools have followed suit. Newton said Thursday he will visit Washington, Utah, Cal and Nevada this summer but no dates have been set yet. He added that his relationship with UW running backs coach Keith Bhonapha is very strong and while he would commit to a number, Newton said the Huskies are "high" on his list. The read is Washington is the favorite right now and it appears that he could commit on his visit this summer, but with no date in mind that'll be a couple months down the road.

2018 Sacramento (Calif.) American River C.C. defensive tackle Caleb Tremblay (uncommitted): UW defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski visited Tremblay earlier this spring and followed up with an offer within the past couple weeks. The 6-foot-5 and 280-pound DT is a mid-year transfer, which means he would have two years of eligibility remaining after playing his second season this fall at ARCC. Four other Pac-12 schools - Arizona, California, Colorado and Washington State - have already offered Tremblay, in addition to other Power-Five offers from Iowa State, Kansas State, Purdue and Syracuse. Tremblay said he doesn't have any top list organized yet but its expected Washington will get an official visit this fall.

Keep An Eye Out: There could be a development at wide receiver in the coming months, in the addition category verses subtraction. Washington already holds three verbal commits: Austin Osborne, Marquis Spiker, and Trey Lowe, with all secure on their pledges to the Huskies. But there could be a bonus receiver in the class if the right pieces come together.
