Rivals.com spoke with 2017 four-star Graham (Wash.) Graham-Kapowsin offensive tackle Foster Sarell following The Opening regional in Seattle. He's been pretty quiet but we were able to find out about another unofficial visit as well as some official visit chances...
On The Opening invite… “It’s good man God is good for sure. I’ve been working for this for a while now and I’m really happy for myself. So just go home and celebrate with my friends and family and get ready to get going for July 5th and get it goin’.”
On spring recruitment… “So I went to Stanford’s Junior Day earlier and [besides that] I haven’t really done anything. I went up to UDub for a day and then I’m going to Notre Dame in the middle of June, and then that’s it until August. It’s been hard – you have to buffer a lot of stuff you know with reporters and everything. It’s been hectic but I think it’s a humbling experience and me and my family have done a good job of keeping it low-key with ourselves staying tucked up here in the Pacific Northwest. I think we’ve done a good job of that and make it as enjoyable a process as you can.”
On Washington… “Oh yeah back when Sark was there – I was 15 . . . I love UDub those guys are genuine men, I respect their game. UDub is going to be awesome, they’re going to be great I can feel that. I’ve built a good relationship and I know they’re going to do great things for sure.”
On a timetable and still possibly deciding on Signing Day… “I mean it is – it’s a smart idea in my mind to do that because you never know what coaches are going to do these days. But if I feel like there is a major tug on my heart to go somewhere and we’ve done the pro’s and con’s, checks and balances, my family we’re in agreements on where I want to go we can make that decision for sure. But I do believe it’s smarter to wait but you never know.”
On narrowing down his list following ND visit… “I probably will have to narrow it down by then because I mean it’s not right to keep colleges out there waiting. But I definitely go see Notre Dame, see what it’s like, get back with my family and set what I want to do for the rest of the year.”
On interest in Notre Dame… “Well I mean obviously they have a tradition, it’s like the Mecca for football. Their academics are amazing, great business school. Football wise I think they’re doing great. They play my kind of football – big, fast, physical boys – their offensive line coach is a great man, I’ve gotten to know him pretty well. I know a lot of coaches respect him and it’s a place that, if I decide to go there, it’s a great fit.”
On which schools are standing out… “I’m keeping that on the low-key but I mean there’s a couple out there I’m sure you can read up on it on the internet. Everyone likes to say Stanford right now that’s for sure. I love Stanford it’s a great place. UCLA, Nebraska, Alabama, Michigan and there’s others that aren’t coming to mind right now – there’s a lot to think about.”
On official visits… “I’m sure I’ll be checking out UDub and Stanford and Notre Dame. And there’s a couple others that are battling around but I haven’t figured that one out yet.”
