I haven't caught up yet with 2018 four-star Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral center Justin Dedich following his unofficial visit, but there was no expectation for him to commit and I prefer fuller reports for kids visiting so I'll catch up with him this weekend.

However, a key element to the visit was his father, Bill Dedich, getting a chance to meet the coaches and see the campus with Justin. His mother made the trip with him back in January so his dad hadn't yet see UW, while still being very high on the coaches/program. His father shared his thoughts on the visit...

"We can't thank the coaches and staff enough for all the effort they put out for us. I am truly humbled by the day and people we met. UW is all class. We are totally impressed and saw why coach Petersen had been building juggernauts for years. His philosophy and passion are contagious. That's a program any parent could feel comfortable sending their son to. We did not feel a sales pitch, just genuine people working hard at their careers to be the best. If a kid gets an offer to that program, they should seriously consider it, like Justin is. They are one of his top considerations for sure. They are recruiting carefully and wisely to build on last year's success. On top of that a world class education at one of the most prestigious universities. Tons of great alumni and fan base and be able to play in that stadium in that environment. Definitely got Justin's attention. These visits are supposed to help him make an informed decision, but these schools and coaches are all awesome and its gonna make it hard for him to pick one. Gotta be the best hardest thing to deal with. A great problem to have that's for sure."

Dedich will visit USC on Monday (6/19) before heading off to TheOpening at the end of June/beginning of July. The expectation is the four-star recruit will narrow his list down soon (UW fully expected to make the cut).
