Fresh off an unofficial visit to Washington last weekend, 2023 defensive back Diesel Gordon has committed to the Huskies today. The 6-foot prospect from Seguin HS in the Arlington area picked UW over offers from Arizona State, Utah, Connecticut, Colorado State and others. UW is expected to host over 20 visitors this weekend and that likely means more commitments are coming. Gordon beating that group to at least one of the spots in the class means he no longer has to worry about losing out on a spot. The Huskies offered Gordon less than a month ago and moved quickly as other schools began to get involved in the process. Chuck Morrell led the recruitment for the program and Gordon is expected to come in as a safety for the Huskies though he could play other positions in the secondary as well.
Gordon is the second commitment of the week for UW following Jacob Lane's decision earlier in the week. The Huskies now have six commitments in the 2023 class.
