2017 four-star Independence (Ore.) Central defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu (UW commit): Washington has made it 10 months holding on to the commitment of 4-star DT Marlon Tuipulotu, the No.1 prospect in the state of Oregon in 2017. Rivals has been able to confirm that Tuipulotu will take an official visit to USC this weekend. Washington has had a hard time communicating and reaching their prized commit toward the end of the week, while Tuipulotu was scheduling his official. This isn't to say that Tuipulotu is a goner, but there will have to be some mended fences following this weekend when Petersen has his in-home visit with Tuipulotu.

This leaves UW in a hard spot right before signing day. Washington has moved on from Brandon Pili after almost bringing him in last weekend for an official visit with Vita Vea still undecided at the time. Vea turned down the draft to stay at UW and with Tuipulotu in the fold, all seemed well. UW now is without Jay Tufele, Pili and potentially looking at having to see what else turns up.

2017 three-star Edmonds (Wash.) Edmonds-Woodway defensive end Ali Gaye (uncommitted): Washington will host Gaye this weekend for an official visit. UW does have an offer standing to Gaye but there are several questions surrounding his academics. The most likely path for Gaye is to at the very least grey shirt, but more than likely having him play at a JC and get him back in a couple years. Gaye is still scheduled to take an official to Ole Miss next weekend, but with the academic questions there's not much of a shot there either.

2017 three-star San Pedro (Calif.) offensive tackle Nick Ford (uncommitted): Ford is the only other prospect UW is bringing in for an official that is not committed. As of Thursday night Ford told Rivals that he's focused on his official to Washington and isn't sure if he will take an official visit next weekend. Ford is keeping things close to the vest with no one knowing if a school is leading or not as things stand. With Ford not scheduling an official next weekend there is a chance he could join the class this weekend and give UW three OL and done with its class.

2017 four-star Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe safety/athlete Isaiah Pola-Mao (uncommitted): Washington hosted the Rivals250 prospect back in Week 1 vs Rutgers, but the Huskies have remained right in the thick of things for Pola-Mao. UW will battle USC and Arizona State for his commitment and the Huskies have a better than 33.3 percent chance. The Huskies were able to fend off in-state ASU for 4-star cornerback Byron Murphy late in the process last year, and Pola-Mao could be that prospect this year.

2017 three-star Edmonds (Wash.) Edmonds-Woodway DL Ali Gaye (uncommitted): As we reported at the time of his offer Gaye was viewed as an academic question mark in the eyes of the UW coaches. At minimum Gaye would have to redshirt at Washington, but more than likely have to grey shirt in order to get his academics in order. While UW and Gaye review academics the three-star prospect confirmed with Rivals he will take an official visit to Ole Miss on Jan. 27-29, the only official he's set at this point. I don't view Gaye as a prospect UW will take unless he agrees to grey shirt, and if he can get into Ole Miss I don't see him taking the UW offer.

2017 three-star San Pedro (Calif.) offensive tackle Nick Ford (uncommitted): Washington secured its second offensive line commitment in 3-star OG Cole Norgaard, who made his pledge during his official visit last weekend. This weekend the Huskies will host Ford and there is a chance UW could elect to take Ford's commitment, take their third OL for this class and let that be the class. However, with UW still in play for Pola-Mao and OT Austin Jackson, there could be a wait and see approach the Huskies take with Ford, should he want to commit this weekend.

2018 four-star Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco athlete Jaiden Woodbey (uncommitted): Woodbey told me after the UW/Bama game that there was a little bit of a knock of Washington when it came to his interest, but he didn't say it was a massive deal. With USC's showing in the Rose Bowl the Huskies appear to have slipped behind the Trojans with Southern Cal making his final four and UW being left out.
