Halftime

At halftime, the defense leads the offense 21-3. The defense looks energetic and has been all over the ball. The defensive line is especially effective in this game, and the secondary has done a nice job of covering the pass game. The offense seems to be struggling to get passes off and to get too many yards on the ground.

Thoughts on the first half

Last year, the Washington offense scored 57 touchdowns.

Today, the revamped defense has held the offense to zero touchdowns and a 37-yard field goal. Keith Price is 4 of 12 for 36 yards. All in all, this offense only had six first downs

The defense is getting better, especially the defensive line and pass rush by the linebackers. The defense recorded six tackles for loss and three sacks in the half. James Sample led the way with three total tackles, and Drew Shultz, Nate Fellner, and Travis Feeney are playing strong.

Let's see what the offense can do in the second half.
